We are really looking forward to you visiting our art exhibition on Wednesday. The children and staff are working hard to ensure all the work is finished ready for display.
We all enjoy sharing the children’s work with you and it is lovely to have another opportunity to celebrate our wider curriculum beyond reading, writing and maths.
Whilst our theme has been ‘People in Art’, each class has studied different artists and techniques on which to base their work.
Maple class have looked at the works of Andy Warhol and will also be very busy this week making biscuits for our refreshments.
Oak class have made some stunning portraits based on Picasso resulting in an amazingly colourful classroom!
Willow class also studied Picasso and, with oak class, visited an art gallery in Bedford to learn more about portraits.
Beech class have looked at the Victorian art form of silhouette making and have produced some incredibly striking displays.
Rowan class have concentrated on Lowry and have produced an impressive variety of work based on people. Look out for their life size colourful portrait around the school!
Sycamore class have based their work on Giacometti whose exhibition we went to see at the Tate way back at the beginning of the school year!
We hope you enjoy looking at the children’s work as much as they have done making it. It has been a most enjoyable learning journey!
