I hope you have all had a lovely term break. The summer term is always a very busy one and this will be no exception! We will start with our cafes this week. Preparations are well underway and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and to the orders for 'takeouts'!
Rehearsals have now begun in earnest for our summer performance (4th and 5th July) entitled 'The Key Master' which, this year, very much follows a theme of time travel. I won't give anymore away than that! Precise details of timings and how to book your seat will follow shortly.
We will be very sorry to be losing our Year 6s at the end of this term. I had the great pleasure of spending a week in St Ives with most of them in the run up to term break. Along with some of our Year 5s, we had the most amazing time staying in a fabulous hostel and visiting many of the attractions in the area. The weather was fantastic which certainly helped. Blue skies dominated most of the week which made our visits to St Michael's Mount, Lands' End and the Minnack Theatre all the more impressive. We made sure we had plenty of time for the beach and, at one point, had nearly all the children in the sea! One of the objectives for the trip was to represent what we saw through art. We spent a good deal of time sketching, creating art in the sand and had a very thought provoking visit to Tate St Ives studying abstract and modern art. Our theme of ecology and conservation was delivered through the very strong 'eco theme' of the hostel and our very popular visit to Newquay zoo. Some of our Eco club were on the trip and will now be presenting back to the club with what they saw and learnt. We have so many photos of the trip which we would like to share with you and will spend the next couple of days sorting out the best way to do so.
Our wonderful FODs team are, of course, busy making preparations for the fete on Saturday 22nd June. Thank you for all the donations you have sent in so far and to those of you who have offered to help. FODs do an amazing job and the money they raise is vital to the running of our school and to provide the extended curriculum of trips, events and visits to and from school. Please come and support us on the day; it really does make a difference!
Please also remember to book your slot for our new transition meetings that will take place between 8th and 10th July. Booking is the same as for the previous parents meetings.
